What This Age Calculator Shows
Choose your birth month, year and day, then press Calculate Age. The result table shows:
- Age: Your exact age in years, months and days.
- Birth Day: The day of the week you were born.
- Months Old: Your total age converted into months.
- Days Old: Your total age converted into days.
- Hours Old and Minutes Old: The same age expressed in total hours and minutes.
- Next Birthday: How many days are remaining until your next birthday.
Example: Someone born on 15 March 1995, checked on 22 October 2026, is 31 years, 7 months and 7 days old. That is 379 months or 11,544 days, and the next birthday is 144 days away.
You only enter a date, not a time of birth, so the hours and minutes are estimates based on whole days.
How to Use It
- 1. Select your birth month.
- 2. Select your birth year.
- 3. Select your birth day: The list of days automatically adjusts based on the month and year you chose, so you cannot pick an invalid date such as 31 April or 29 February in non-leap years.
- 4. Click Calculate Age.
How Your Age is Counted
Age in years and months is counted from your last birthday and month-day. The extra days are whatever remains after that count. Months are not all the same length, which is why manual calculations often go wrong.
Leap years also matter. A year has an extra day (29 February) when it is divisible by 4, except for century years, which must be divisible by 400. So 2000 was a leap year, but 1900 was not. The calculator takes these rules into account when counting your total days.
Why Your Exact Age is Useful
- Forms and planning: Quickly check your exact age on a given date for school, work, or travel applications.
- Milestones: Track how many days remain until an important birthday or milestone goal.
- Habit tracking: Celebrate life milestones such as "Day 10,000" or note every 1,000 days.
- Curiosity: It is simply fascinating to view your life measured in total months, days, and hours.
Your Age and Your Health Tools
Age does not define your fitness, but it plays an important role in key health calculations:
- Our Calorie Calculator uses age in the Mifflin-St Jeor equation to estimate your daily energy needs.
- Sleep needs change with age. The CDC recommends 8 to 10 hours for teens (13 to 17), 7 or more hours for adults aged 18 to 60, 7 to 9 hours for ages 61 to 64, and 7 to 8 hours for adults 65 and older. Plan your schedule with our Sleep Calculator.
Whatever your age, small daily habits build lasting health. Try a 5-minute morning micro workout or use the 2-minute rule to start today.
